My name is Marisa Dente. I am a sophomore at MSU and I have loved my experience here so far! I live on campus but I am from a nearby town, West Caldwell. What's interesting about me is the fact that I am an unbelievably caring person. I always put others before myself and I am always there for my friends and family when they need someone. I also love children and love working with and being with kids. I am also a very hard worker and love to get good grades and do well in school. I have not declared my major yet but I am applying to the Family and Child Studies program because that is what I would like major in. I hope after college to become an elementary school teacher and preferably teach second grade. I also intend to get married and have a happy, healthy family.
B) Also, tell us about your family - for example - are your parents married or not, do you live with them, do you have siblings, pets etc? What is the an activity you like to share with your family? etc.
I have an amazing family. I have both a mom and a dad who are still married after many years. They are very happy together and they are still in love. I still live with them, except for during the school year when I am living on campus. I also have an older brother, Joseph. He is 24 years old and is a hedge-fund analyst for Rothstein Kass. We get along great and are almost like best friends. I also have a dog, a jack russell terrier named Rocky who I have had since third grade. He is a great pet and I love him very much. One of the things my family and I love and always do together is watching football on sundays together. Every sunday my mom and I make pasta for dinner and we all sit in the basement and watch football all day and night. It is a great time and we really bond. We also love to go shopping together.
C) Please also write about TWO topics on the syllabus that interest you and write a few sentences about WHY they interest you.
One topic on the syllabus that interests me is how we are going to talk about the change in technology affecting relationships. I find this interesting because with all of the social networks that are involved in today's society, relationships can be very influenced by these. Also, through technology such as facebook people date online without ever meeting. This would be very interesting to research. Another topic I think would be interesting is Love and Sexuality. This is interesting to me because I love Love. I love talking about marriage and learning about peoples sexualities and why they are the way they are.
D) Next tell me what you think about wikis - or what you learned from the video.
Wiki's seem like an easy and efficient way for the entire class to communicate. I believe this will be better than communicating through email.
